The Y offers programs, services and initiatives focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, according to the unique needs of the communities it engages. Together we provide a place for swim, sports and play among youth, fitness and well-being among adults and social opportunities for seniors.

 

 

Harrisburg Area YMCA Locations

The Camp Curtin YMCA, in Uptown Harrisburg, opened the doors of a new facility in 1966. With the completion of a new Youth & Teen Center, upgraded Computer Learning Center, new Wellness Center and renovated Lobby, the Camp Curtin Branch is a vital part of our community.

The East Shore YMCA was built in 1932, with its unique Italian Romanesque architecture. To date, additions and improvements have increased the capacity of the downtown Y significantly. A new Computer Learning Center and Wellness Center have all been added.

The Friendship YMCA (formerly the Friendship Community Center) located in Lower Paxton Township is a beautiful facility full of opportunity! The 62,000 square foot Friendship YMCA includes an aerobics studio, classrooms, gymnasium, locker rooms, large family aquatics center, a walking track, spinasium, and a wellness center for both weights and cardio.

The West Shore YMCA was founded in 1952, with the construction of our existing building completed in 1972. Renovations and additions to the Y on the West Shore have increased the Wellness Center by 5,000 square feet, as well as an addition on the front of the facility which will house a new Child Care/Kindergarten room, a Child Watch Center, and an Active Older Adults Center. The Indoor, Interactive Waterpark housed in the back of the building along Route 581 has become a popular family attraction at the West Shore YMCA.

The Northern Dauphin County YMCA, while established in 1985, was built in 1994. In 2016 the facility was expanded to include a new lower level that houses a weight room and classroom space. This expansion allowed an increase in health and wellness programming at the branch.

The YMCA Center for Healthy Living was founded in 2016 as a connecting point for other non-profits, government agencies, and private companies to support the pursuit of a healthier life in Harrisburg. Signature programs such as the LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA and the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program are provided at our Harrisburg Area YMCA branches and other locations across Pennsylvania.
