Train-the-Trainer Financial Literacy Workshop
Date: February 22, 2019
Dear Agency Directors & Case managers, Two years ago, five financial institutions and eight human service organizations initiated a program for budget counseling for people of Indiana County.
The Financial Literacy program is now offered monthly, free of charge, to any interested resident of the county.
The small group sessions cover budget preparation, tracking spending habits, saving money, debt repayment, identification of wants versus needs and improving credit scores. The goal is for individuals to practice behaviors that ensure their long term financial stability. We’ve had over forty individuals attend the workshops.
We feel the Financial Literacy program is unique because most case managers do not have the training in offering financial counseling.
We would like to offer to train your case managers, using the same background material used in the monthly workshops.
This would be at no charge and besides the benefit to your clients and agency, it would mean consistent information is given to individuals needing financial counseling.
We hope you will send your case managers or other interested staff to our first
“Train the Trainer” Workshop on February 22, 2019, 9:00 am to 3 pm.
This workshop is free of charge and will include lunch. There will be a variety of presenters and topics include
- Wants vs Needs,
- Preparing a Budget,
- Debt Repayment,
- How to Save Money and Living Within Your Means.
