The Youth and Family Training Institute has a full-time position open now on our team for an interviewer in Allegheny County primarily but also some in-person and phone interviews in Greene and Blair counties.
The rest of their time is spent in the YFTI office doing data entry work. There are also opportunities for them to do some evaluation design, writing, conference presentations, etc.

The Youth and Family Training Institute (YFTI) was established in 2007 as part of the University of Pittsburgh and Western Psychiatric Hospital to bring a consistent approach to training, coaching, credentialing, fidelity and outcomes monitoring of the High Fidelity Wraparound (HFW) process in Pennsylvania. HFW is a team-based collaborative process that integrates the training and coaching components with an innovative evaluation team. The evaluation team is responsible for the outcomes, process, fidelity, and satisfaction data collection for PA counties implementing High Fidelity Wraparound. The evaluation team is also contracted to work with five SAMHSA Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) grants and three SAMHSA Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) grants, involving the data collection, data analysis, and continuous quality improvement efforts throughout 40 partner counties in Pennsylvania.
The ideal candidate should be flexible with their time, friendly, non-judgmental, and comfortable entering other’s homes to conduct interviews with both parents and children who are involved with CYF. The candidate should also be comfortable entering data from multiple grant sources and be able to pay close attention to detail. Experience with Microsoft Access and Excel is a plus.
This is a grant-funded position.
Assist in the execution of research protocols and services.
Assist with recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).
Maintain accurate documentation.
Quality assurance, review and audit data collected to look for errors or missing information.
Data entry, input quantitative/qualitative data into databases for analysis.
Report writing about themes, conclusions, and recommendations.
Conduct interviews, focus groups, or field observations and summarize results for research projects.
Conduct a literature review of relevant publications and assessment tools/techniques.
Develop IRB application, training materials, consent forms, and supporting documents for the evaluations.
Develop data collection techniques, develop survey/interview/focus group questions, build surveys into software programs for paper or web-based data collection, conduct test assessments to understand time burden, etc.
Be available for travel for in-person training/support to various PA counties or contracted entities participating in evaluation activities.
Produce materials for marketing results, PowerPoint slides, simple brochures, social media posts, etc.
Bachelor’s degree required preferably in psychology or related field.
Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
Prior related work experience in a research setting preferred.
Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
