INTERACTING WITH INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES

The training will focus on ways to recognize the behaviors of a person with an intellectual developmental disability (IDD) and to interact with the person in a supportive, trauma-informed way if they were to disclose abuse, or if there were any indications of abuse.
Also, the unique circumstances and vulnerabilities a person with an IDD may face when coming forward with an allegation of abuse will be discussed.
