To provide opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live in and enrich the community throughout their lives.Indian Creek Foundation was conceptualized by a group of caring members of the Franconia Mennonite Conference in 1958 when a child in their congregation was born with Downs Syndrome. The first signs of what would later become Indian Creek Foundation included “Hilltop Sunday School” for children with special needs in 1963, the “Day on the Farm Camp” in 1968, and the start of a sheltered workshop in 1969. Indian Creek Foundation became incorporated in 1974 with the organization’s growthralleling statewide de-institutionalization and the start of home based community care for people with developmental disabilities.special needs healthcare,Family ServicesProvides long-term and short-term supports to children and adults with disabilities who live with their families and in the community. Services are designed to promote independence, provide training and assistance to family members. Support options include: Behavioral Health Services, Intake/Assessment, Family Based Mental Health Services, Home Based Waiver, Lifesharing, Respite Services, Social Skills Program, Supported Living, and STAR of Indian Creek, a recreational and socialization program.Behavioral Health Services (Wraparound)Behavioral Health Services provides mental health services to children and adolescents (ages 3-21). Children in these programs must live in either the Bucks and Montgomery county area and have a mental health diagnosis and'or developmental disability. These programs provide staff with expertise in Autism Specturm Disorders as needed. Programs include: Intake/Assessment, BHRS (Wraparound), Family Based Services, and Social Skills Groups.Respite services come in two types: In-home for families who want their family member cared for in their own home, and Host Family for families who want their family member cared for in the home of the Respite Care Provider. Respite Care Providers are individuals who provide quality service after undergoing an interview with the Respite Specialist and successfullyssing a child abuse and criminal clearance screening. FBI fingerprint screening is also required.STAR of Indian Creek provides social, recreation, and educational opportunities for people age 16 and older with developmental disabilities. The focus of STAR is not only to emphasize social growth but also to have fun! STAR provides members with monthly bus trips, mini trips to exciting cultural activities, dinner theaters, ballet, concerts, and sporting events.What is Family Based Mental Health Services? Family Based Services (FBS) is an intensive, in-home family therapy program designed to work with families to successfully maintain children in the family’s home. Children or adolescents who have been referred to FBS have been identified as having emotional or behavioral problems that place them at risk for not being able to be maintained in the home and might be in need of more restrictive services.
