TRAINING What is the Goal? College and Career Planning for Students with ASD for Schools, Students,

Date: October 30, 2019

The Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Special Education is pleased to announce the following training opportunity:

What is the Goal? College and Career Planning for Students with ASD for Schools, Students, Families

Date: October 30, 2019

Times: 9 AM to 3:30 PM

Locations: PaTTAN East, PaTTAN Harrisburg and PaTTAN Pittsburgh

Do high schools prepare students for graduation or for post-secondary success?
While these may be considered one in the same, post-secondary outcomes for students with autism suggest that they are not.
In order to work towards post-secondary success for students with autism who are academically on grade level and have college as a goal,

  • we will share the experiences of high schools and colleges supporting students with autism,
  • a self-assessment process to help high schools identify and prioritize areas for system change,
  • how to engage families in this work with their students,
  • and an opportunity for schools to continue this work at a deeper level.

Presenters: PaTTAN Educational Consultants
